How to ride Chengdu Metro with a foreign bank card
Chengdu Metro supports direct gate payment with several overseas-issued card networks. Enable contactless small-value payment before the first ride.
Supported cards
The latest city report lists overseas-issued Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club and Discover cards, plus UnionPay, across the metro network.
At the gate
Use the contactless sensor at a supported gate. If the card fails, use a ticket machine or ask station staff about the current single-ticket option.
Before traveling
Ask your card issuer to enable contactless small-value payments and keep cash or a supported mobile wallet as a backup.
